Where’s Your Bridle?

When I was growing up, I worked at a local horse farm just down the street from my home. Some of the job duties were bailing hay, cleaning out the stalls, and feeding and watering the horses. I learned that horses are very strong animals and hard to control at times. Without direction they can really do harm to themselves and others. However, their mouths are very sensitive which is why bridles are used to control the direction they go. A horse with a bridle is a picture of strength under control. Humans are a lot like horses. Without self-control, we end up going in the wrong direction and often hurt ourselves and others in the process. What is your bridle? How do you get self-control? If you struggle with this, maybe we can help you today. Comment here.

Practice Self-Control

Sometimes I have a problem with self control. This means that I have trouble with showing restraint over my impulses, emotions and desires. I can only assume that I am not the only one. Our needs are very important to us and we often think that our needs should be met at all times. Unfortunately this is not always the case. I have some bad news for you; life is not always about us. We should think of others before ourselves and show some restraint at times. Our desires could lead to more trouble than we could possibly handle. Show some restraint today and practice some self control. Comment here.
